Women-founded 3PL Virago Logistics partners with Pacificomm to drive NZ expansion

After growing from a homegrown startup into a boutique logistics partner for some of Australia’s fastest-rising e-commerce brands, Melbourne-based 3PL Virago Logistics is taking its next big leap across the Tasman, announcing a partnership with New Zealand logistics group Pacificomm.

Speaking to Business News Australia, Director Em Frost said the partnership marks a pivotal step for both her clients and the business.

“It’s really taking things to the next step. Being a small, women-owned business has got us to where we are, but in order to grow to the next level, it’s really about connecting and being a part of a network,” she said.

“It’s tapping into that network and allowing my clients who’ve aligned themselves with the business so far to be able to say, ‘You want New Zealand distribution? Amazing. We can make it happen.’”

Founded in 2012, Auckland-based Pacificomm has worked with global heavyweights such as Apple, Big W, Kogan (ASX: KGN), Kmart, Costco, Amazon, JB Hi-Fi (ASX: JBH) and Samsung.

Ajay Sharma, Pacificomm’s director of new ventures, said the collaboration is designed to give Virago the scale and resources to thrive.

“What we bring to the table is a bit more horsepower that she can tap into — our supply chain teams, freight teams, global forwarding, back office, legal, commercial, and finance,” Sharma said.

“We can take this young entrepreneurial business and plug in some corporate horsepower to help the journey, and in turn, that helps us too.”
